WELCOME TO THE FOLKESTONE FESTIVAL
2014 will see the Folkestone Festival enter a third year of planning, during that time our month-long programme has transitioned into a ten-week calendar of exuberant and versatile events that the community of Folkestone can be proud to call their own.
Over the course of 2013 we reached record-breaking heights as the UK’s first ever Mermaid Festival arrived at Folkestone’s shores, dinosaurs walked among us at the Leas Village Fete, culture, food and music from across the globe was celebrated at the eighth annual Folkestone Multi-Cultural Festival and the Folkestone Proms amazed all in attendance for the second year in a row with a passionate and patriotic performance from the Kent Concert Orchestra, accompanied by a jaw-dropping firework display that Folkestone in it’s entirety felt the full effects of. We have only scratched the surface of the catalogue of amazing events that were brought to the fore this year and 2014 will be the strongest to date.
