2013 is going to be an exciting year in Folkestone with many events making a welcome return, along with some new ones!

Folkestone has a number of wonderful, unique characteristics which surpass those of almost any other town in England.  With its unique mile long grassy promenade and wonderful sea views, fine Victorian architecture, Martello towers, original water-balance lift, award winning coastal park and a pretty working harbour.

A group of Folkestone residents and business folk, all volunteers, brought together a month long programme of mostly free family events.  For 2013 FOLKESTONE FESTIVALS bring you an even more ambitious and exciting programme extending through June…  all FUN, all for the FAMILY and mostly all FREE.

There are major events organised for every week-end in June and many mid-week events… some well established events and some new ones. The main events will be held in the pedestrian precinct, the Leas, the harbour and the amphitheatre.

From the excellent and well established Multi-cultural Festival now in its eighth year, the superb Proms on The Leas and the magnificent Folkestone Airshow run by the Town Centre Management both started last year to the NEW Mermaid Festival, Leas Folkestone Family Fete, Folkestone Fish-fest and the Celebration of Youth. The events are planned to include the community with music, food, dance, sports, comedy, entertainment and spectacle.
